Seamab is a charity, based in Rumbling Bridge, Kinross, that provides care and education for children from across Scotland that have more complex needs and require specialised intensive support. Children arrive at Seamab any age between 5 and 13 and stay for the amount of time that is right for them.

Not every child feels protected, loved and safe, but Seamab believes that every child should have a childhood where they feel safe, accepted and happy. Up to 21 children go to school at Seamab, with up to 15 children in residential placements around a mile away. The school was built in the early 1980’s as a residential property and despite the team working hard to make the most of the setting, the facilities are no longer fit for purpose. The Seamab board believe that it is important for the children to have a purpose built school providing a therapeutic learning environment to help the children achieve their dreams.

Alastair Wallace, Senior Partner at Thomas & Adamson is donating his to time to project managing the new school, said ‘it’s harrowing to hear some of the stories that young innocent children experience in their lives; every child deserve a place they feel safe and protected. The Seamab team are committed to providing a therapeutic and nurturing environment for children from difficult backgrounds. It is a privilege and humbling to be part of this incredible team to deliver this urgently needed school and home.’
