Project Summary: Various developments for the Apex Hotels Group, predominantly 4 star conversion model, including new build and refurbishment to provide bedrooms, meeting rooms, function rooms, bar/restaurants and swimming pool. Projects have been throughout the UK, including London and Edinburgh..

Recently completed projects include front of house refurbishment to their City of London property and a 30 room extension to the Apex Inner Temple on Fleet Street, London. Thomas & Adamson have a long history of working on this hotel having undertaken the original development of the property in 2004 and then, over the years, the subsequent extension projects delivering a total of 200 rooms. To maintain its position as one of the City’s leading luxury hotels a front of house refurbishment was undertaken in 2018.

This project opened-up the front of house area, creating a new brasserie and restaurant area, reconfigured and upgraded the meeting rooms and front desk, arrivals experience. The scope also included the provision of a new branded Spa (Pure Spa).

Given the variety and scope of works encompassed by this project it was both a complex and intricate build. The hotel remained trading throughout with operational and customer needs and experience being prioritised.

Large scale structural interventions combined with re-routing of M&E installations demanded a developed design and a through interrogation of existing fabric and systems.

There was an absolute focus on programme including pre-orders, availability of materials, sequencing and micro-phasing. By this means unknowns can be accommodated and the hotel management can be kept informed.
