Project summary: Edinburgh Refurbishment of the Grade ‘A’ Listed Assembly Rooms, transforming a valuable historic building into a modern facility suitable for the 21st century and beyond. The scheme provided flexible and highly functional event space and associated ancillary spaces. Shell space provided for retail/restaurant use at Ground Floor level. This complex project highlighted the cost and programme risks associated with potential unknowns in a Listed building. Management of HLF Stage 1 and Stage 2 funding applications and extensive involvement/management of stakeholders with a robust communications strategy.
