Construction and property consultants, Thomas & Adamson, have been appointed as Principal Designer of the new flagship store for Johnstons of Elgin, due to open in Edinburgh Multrees Walk early next year.
Their newest UK store will be fitted out by leading design and architect agency Four-by-Two and occupy two floors of Multrees Walk just off the heart of St Andrew’s Square – a prominent luxury retail address within Edinburgh’s style mile.
Principal Designer role is a legal requirement for construction projects, implemented in 2015 by the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM2015). Thomas & Adamson will manage health and safety in the design phase of the project and provide
Four-by-Two with competent advice throughout, ensuring they are aware of their responsibility within the 2015 regulations and ensuring the principal contractor is also complying with health and safety legislation.
Les Banks, Partner in Charge of UK Construction Safety Services at Thomas and Adamson, said: “Multrees Walk is the home of luxury retail in Edinburgh. The addition of Johnstons of Elgin enriches the existing retailers and provides Edinburgh residents and visitors the opportunity to purchase beautiful cashmere and knitwear, expertly manufactured in Scotland.
“It’s a privilege to work alongside Four-By-Two to undertake the role of Principal Designer. With their extensive experience in interior, architecture and branding you can expect the store will be finished to an exceptionally high standard. We look forward to the opening of the new store early next year.”
